1

Drop your PDFs

Checking, savings, business or credit card statements from any bank. Digital or scanned.

2

We read every row

AI reads the layout like a person would: dates, descriptions, money in, money out, running balances.

3

Check, then download

See whether the totals match the statement, then download Excel, CSV or a file QuickBooks and Xero import.

Accuracy you can see

Every conversion is checked against the statement

A spreadsheet is only useful if nothing is missing from it. We do the math a bookkeeper would: the opening balance plus every deposit minus every withdrawal has to land on the closing balance. Where a running balance is printed, every single row is checked too.

If something doesn't add up, you see exactly which rows to look at. No silent errors in your books.

Opening balance$4,210.55
+ Money in (12)$6,980.00
− Money out (47)$5,118.37
= Expected closing$6,072.18
Closing on statement$6,072.18
✓ Reconciled. All 59 rows match the running balance.

Same job, smaller bill

Why pay a fortune to turn a PDF into rows?

Statement converters charge like turning a PDF into rows is rocket science. We run on modern AI and pass the savings on: twice the pages for a third of the price.

Questions

How accurate is the conversion?
Every conversion is checked against the statement's own numbers: we start from the opening balance, add up every transaction, and compare the result with the closing balance. We also flag any row where the running balance stops adding up. A match is a strong sign nothing was missed or misread, a mismatch shows you exactly where to look, and either way you should give the output a quick review before you rely on it.
Which banks and credit cards do you support?
Any bank or card issuer, in any country. There are no bank-specific templates: the AI reads each statement's layout, so a small credit union works the same way as a big national bank. If a statement doesn't print its balances, we can't run the balance check, and we tell you so.
Do scanned or photographed statements work?
Yes, as long as they're saved as a PDF (we only accept PDF files, so combine phone photos into one PDF first). Scans are slower to process and less accurate than PDFs downloaded from online banking, so use the original digital PDF when you can and check any rows we flag.
My PDF is password-protected. What do I do?
Remove the password first. Open the PDF with its password, then print or save it to a new PDF (for example with Microsoft Print to PDF on Windows, or Save as PDF in the Print dialog on a Mac) and upload the new copy.
What happens to my statements? Are they stored?
Your PDF is processed in memory and not stored by StatementCheap, and the converted rows go back to your browser without being kept on our servers. We keep only metadata such as page count, date and whether it reconciled, for billing and abuse prevention. Extraction runs on Cloudflare Workers AI, which doesn't keep inputs or outputs after the response and doesn't train on them; no third-party AI company sees your files.
Which file formats can I download?
Excel (XLSX), CSV, QBO for QuickBooks, a 3-column CSV for QuickBooks, Xero CSV, and OFX/QFX for other accounting and personal finance apps.
How much does it cost? Is there a free tier?
You can convert 5 pages every day for free, with no sign-up. After that, a $6 pack gives you 150 pages that never expire, or monthly plans cost $9, $19 and $49 for 500, 2,000 and 7,500 pages. Pay annually and you get two months free.
What if my statement is longer than my free pages?
We convert the pages your free allowance covers and tell you how many were left out. To convert the rest right away, buy a page pack or a plan, or come back tomorrow when your free pages reset.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
Yes. Cancel anytime from the billing portal and your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Failed conversions are never charged, and our refund policy covers barely used page packs, recent subscription charges, and conversions that came out wrong and that we couldn't fix.
How does StatementCheap compare on price?
Our page pack works out to 4 cents a page, and the Pro plan to under 1 cent a page. Many statement converters charge more per page, often a lot more, so compare the per-page cost before you subscribe anywhere.
